Legends of the Saints

It began with the apparition of our Lady in Vietnam, then with her appearance in China, and next: the Lily of Ireland. Soon, seven more books joined the line-up in my mind, forming the book series: The Legends of the Saints.

the Legend of St. Dymphna, Ireland
the Legend of Our Lady of Dong Lu, China
the Legend of Our Lady of La Vang, Việt Nam

The mission of my series:

For too long, the martyrdoms of Christian saints have been presented in softened and comforting images and narratives, leading to a Church today fearful of suffering, sacrifice, and self-discipline.
But Pope Benedict XVI said otherwise: the world promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort.
You were made for greatness.
The stories of this series seek to show the triumph of the saints against a mediocre and malicious world, and how their uncensored sufferings and sacrifices are the greatest victories of all human history, like our Blessed Lord’s.

Readers have remarked that they most appreciate how I do not sugarcoat the world, the flesh, and the devil, and how this actually adds to the light and power of God’s presence through His saints. I’ve tried my best to show the gritty and glorious side alike, and set everything in prose and poetry to rival the best of English literature. I believe it’s not only essential to tell an entertaining tale, but also make it meaningful, and too beautiful to ignore. Many other works tell the stories of the saints, but the writing is uninspiring, artless, or even riddled with errors (grammatical, spelling, even theological). Many other books feature art on their covers and pages, but the formatting and craftsmanship is amateur, an afterthought, or simply forgettable.

Mine must be masterful.

And I hope you will see it for yourself.

Please pray for me to glorify Jesus Christ in all I do. May He bless you.

P.S. stay tuned for the upcoming legends in the series about: the catacombs, the Battle of Lepanto, the conversion of the Aztecs, the Mont Saint Michel, the Christmas tree, and more…
